Customers can fill out and edit their USPS Form 1583 before submitting it to be notarized online! After customers finish notarizing the form with our OneNotary partner, the form is automatically uploaded to their account and approved by our system.

Customers will have to:

  • Go to the "My Account" section in their account.
  • Click on the section titled "Account."
  • Find the section titled "You provided."
  • Click on the green pen icon next to "USPS Form 1583."
  • A pop-up window will appear, and they will need to confirm whether they have an American Social Security Number or not. If they're an international customer, the latter guarantees they are directed to the proper workflow by the system, so they'll have to choose "No, I don't."
  • Customers will then fill out the necessary information in the dedicated fields.
  • Click the "Generate document" button once they have made the necessary changes.
  • Another pop-up window will appear that allows them to review their document before finally proceeding to submit it.
  • Click on the "Edit now" button to edit their documents and make changes if needed.
  • Click on the "Notarize for [$]" to submit their document to the notary processor.
  • Click on "Continue" to be redirected to OneNotary to meet with a notary officer and finalize the process, or click "Cancel Notarization" to cancel it.

*Note: Customers can cancel their notary request at any time, before or after they submit the document for notarization, as long as they didn't complete the session with a notary officer.

**Note: Operators can edit the form before submitting it for notarizing on behalf of users by logging in as the user and following the same steps.

General guidelines to guarantee a smoother process:

  1. Make sure your international customers are choosing the "No, I don't" choice when asked about the SSN to ensure they are directed to the correct flow.
  2. In order for the notary session to be completed successfully, only provide one of the allowed ID types; using anything other than the allowed types listed below will cause the transaction to be rejected by the notary officer.
  3. Customers need to closely review the form and ensure that all provided data is accurate before submitting the form to avoid having to generate and submit a new form.
  4. Customers need to ensure the ID forms they are using to verify their identity and address are valid, legible, unexpired, and with the information written in Latin alphabet (ABC..) and Arabic numerals (123..). Otherwise, the notary officer might not be able to verify the data on the 1583 if the IDs are written in a different language.
